Mabels Cottage by the beach

Could not have asked for a better few days, coast line superb and such lovely people in Nairn. Positive: The location was extremely good, close to the beach, high street and places to eat. Negative: The mattress on the bed was memory foam I think which I am not a fan of and would have preferred a summer quilt with an extra blanket. However everything else in the property could not have been better.

My wife and I stayed at Mables Cottage, we have stayed in Nairn many times but this was our best experience, we prefer our own quiet space and found the cottage perfect, very clean, very quiet, friendly locals, and perfect location to walk anywhere in Nairn.

What a beautiful wee cottage!! The warmest, cosiest, most gorgeous hideaway you could possibly wish for. Absolute perfection. It met our needs perfectly and we can’t wait to return.

The cottage is in a great location with lots to do in the local area. Shops and restaurants nearby and supermarkets a short drive away. The cottage was spotless with everything you need. Welcome pack with dog treats was a nice touch. Emma was quick to respond to any questions. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

Perfect,cosy & comfortable stay in Nairn

The cottage had everything we needed. Amongst the many attractive features, we liked the pretty bathroom tiling, the sunflowers, and the lighthouse lamp. Emma was accommodating with our last minute booking. We were pleased to get the clear instructions for everything. The kitchen was well equipped, but places to eat were near at hand – One One Two wine bar was outstanding. Further afield, the café on the station platform is great for a breakfast roll. If we’d been staying longer, we’d have got some logs, as recommended, from Home Bargains, but just for a cosy ambience – the central heating is very good, and responsive. We had no problems finding parking on the next street. Just be aware the cottage is not ‘at the beach’ or ‘a stone’s throw from the beach’ . It’s at least a 10 minute walk, and longer if you’re heading for East Beach, but that beach does have a large car park, and a bridge to the harbour area.

This is a hidden gem! This cottage is spotless with everything required for a comfortable stay provided. It is an authentic beach cottage with modern facilities and the log burner would be delightful to use during the winter months. Emma responds almost immediately to messages. The treat tray was a lovely welcome touch. We have stayed in many cottages when visiting family in Nairn and Mabel’s beach cottage is definitely stands out and one we would book again. thanks Emma for a fabulous stay!

Such a great find! The cottage is lovely and comfortable. We needed somewhere last minute for 2 adults and 1 child and this was perfect! Competitively priced and great value for money. It was important for us to have oir daughter in her own room, this was so much better than sharing a hotel room. Access was via key in a keysafe, super easy. Thanks for hosting us! Will definitely return.

Wir waren als Familie zu viert in Emma ihrem Mables cottage. Wir haben uns von Anfang an in diesem gemütlichen Haus wie daheim gefühlt. Es war alles blitzsauber, ordentlich und sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir liebten all die kleinen Details der sorgfältig ausgesuchten Einrichtung. Emma war eine wunderbare Gastgeberin. Die Kommunikation mit Emma war sehr schnell und proaktiv, der Self-Checkin unkompliziert. Die Lage fanden wir fantastisch. 5 Minuten zu Fuss zum nahen Strand oder in die Stadt zum Einkaufen. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt und empfehlen Mables Cottage wärmstens weiter. Herzlichen Dank Emma für Alles, auch für das zuvorkommende Willkommensgeschenk.

Cosy and comfortable base for exploring Positive: This cosy and compact cottage is perfect for couples or those with small children. Everything is well thought out and provided for. It's a great base for touring the area and enjoying Nairn's beaches. Negative: The bunk bed was a bit cramped for our 17 year old, so I'd suggest small children would be happier here.

This is a lovely little cottage, close to the beach for dog walks and an easy drive into inverness. Everything you would need for your stay is provided, and the shower gel smells amazing!

We had a great few days spent at Emma’s cottage whilst exploring the coastline. Great spot, well worth the visit.

Emma’s place is lovely! So cosy and cute. Everything is thought of and the little extra treats were a nice touch. Location is great handy for high street and a short walk to the beach. The fire is lovely to sit by at night, beds are comfy and kitchen is well equipped. Emma was friendly and quick during all communication. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The cottage itself was charming and beautifully appointed, providing us with both comfort and convenience throughout our visit. The location was absolutely perfect. Just steps away from the stunning shoreline, we were able to enjoy long, leisurely walks along the beach, taking in the fresh sea air and the picturesque views of the waves crashing against the shore. The beach offered a peaceful retreat, where we could relax and unwind, soaking up the sun or watching the sunset paint the sky with vibrant colors. Our time in Nairn was filled with delightful moments, and Mabel's Cottage served as the ideal base for our adventures. We explored the quaint local shops, savored the delicious cuisine at nearby restaurants, and engaged with the friendly locals, and visited treasured friend’s, who made our experience all the more enriching. Overall, we had a truly beautiful time at Mabel's Cottage, and it exceeded all of our expectations. We cannot recommend this charming spot highly enough, and we look forward to returning in the future to create even more cherished memories. X Negative: It would be absolutely wonderful to have some fire lighters on hand! They would undoubtedly make starting a fire much easier and more efficient. Additionally, it might be a good idea to consider bringing along some extra toilet paper as well. This would ensure that we are well-prepared for longer stays, providing us with the necessary supplies to stay comfortable and maintain proper hygiene throughout our time. Having these items would certainly enhance our experience and help us feel more at ease during our trip.

We had a super 3 nights stay at Mabel's Cottage. We were so impressed with everything. Positive: We liked the location and position of the property, the small front garden was a suntrap and quiet. The cottage was very well equipped, tastefully decorated and clean. The log burner worked well too.

A wonderful location and very comfortable accommodations. This was a return trip to Nairn, first stay at cottage will d Positive: Great location, comfortable & cozy. TV’s with good apps ( Netflix, Prime, etc) Negative: 1. Could have provided a bit more in the kitchen (ie aluminum foil, ziplock bags, dish towel for drying dishes). 2. The latch on the white gate doesn’t catch, so during the 2 days of high winds the gate was banging.

The kitchen was well catered for with cutlery, crockery and cooking pots and pans. The cottage was in a great location to explore the neighbouring areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mabel’s Cottage and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore the area or just somewhere to relax. Emma is an excellent host, very responsive to messages and friendly - she was always happy to help! The cottage was spotlessly clean and offered great amenities for our stay, it was exceptionally comfortable and served as a lovely cosy base for us. It’s situated in an excellent location meaning you’re a very small walk from the beach and shops/bars/restaurants. We are frequent visitors to the Highlands and Islands and this cottage has been one of our favourite places to stay. There’s much more for us to visit in Nairn so we are hoping to be back staying in this cottage again soon! Mòran taing, Emma!

Cosy, beautiful cottage by the sea. Positive: We loved this cottage. It was in the perfect location for our visit, within walking distance to the beach and also the restaurants and town. It isn’t far from Inverness in the car. Having free access to parking was great too. The cottage is cosy and well furnished and equipped. We really appreciated using the log burner in the evenings. Negative: We liked everything about this cottage. The only thing we missed was having larger bath towels instead of hand sized towels.

What a fantastic place to stay. The cottage is beautifully decorated and maintained and we felt at home the moment we walked in. Everything we needed was there and the thoughtful welcome gifts were very much appreciated. All communication with Emma was postive and friendly and she was always quick to respond. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the lovely beach, local restaurants, and shops. Free parking is also available very nearby. We will definitely be staying again if the cottage is free when we're up. Thanks Emma for a lovely stay.

The cottage was better than we could have imagined and finished to a very high standard. It was very clean and had everything we needed for the perfect weekend, especially the fire for the colder nights. The extra touches, were very thoughtful. The location is perfect with it being so close to the high street and the beach. A large car park was located a few seconds walk from the property which was ideal. Emma was super helpful and quick to respond to any questions. We would love to stay here again and are already considering our summer booking ☺️
